We Have a Problem (or so they tell us)

Lately Verb and I have realized (and ignored) that we have a slight betting problem.

Now we don't go and bet with bookies or online or in Vegas, just against each other.

But conversations always seem to end with "you wanna bet?" or "I'll bet you on that".

Right now we have 6 different bets active (not including our fantasy football league we are in) and we thought you should be able to follow along.

So I am going to list them here and keep track of them in the sidebar so you can see who knows more about sports......me or Verb.

1. Verb claims that LT and Laurence Maroney will have MORE fantasy points at the end of the season than Ryan Grant and Marshawn Lynch. I obviously bet on that.
2. Verb believes that (due to injury) Adrian Peterson will start LESS games than Chester Taylor. While I think AP will miss some games to injury it won't be 8.
   
3. Verb states that Chad Pennington will OUTPLAY Favre when they play each other this season. Pennington plays for the offensively challenged Dolphins.....nuff said!
4. Verb thinks the 49ers will finish ABOVE last place in their division. I thought it was unlikely although after watching the Rams I believe he is probably right.
5. Verb picked the Atlanta Falcons to have the FIRST pick in the draft. I said noway and so far I am looking like a genius!

We have one more bet ongoing and it is about Nascar. We each have a roster of 7 drivers and have 5 active for any given week. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were off limits. I had to have at least 3 roush drivers in the lineup every week and Verb needed to have 3 JGR teams in every week. Currently Verb is up by just over 100 points. Verb's Thoughts:

First of all, its only a problem if you don't like doing it. And I, really don't mind it, so to me its not a problem (I am definitely not an addict, as he said, I only bet with him).

-I think LT is going to be great again! Maroney only got better this past weekend, and Grant only got worse. I may have started out slow but I have a good feeling about that one still. Oh and he didn't mention I have both Lynch and Grant on my fantasy, How retarded is that?

-The AP one I feel is the one I am most likely to lose. We'll see.

-I am only a little bit behind right now and once they all get on the same page I think I have a good chance with Pennington also.

-The 49ers are my favorite team. I have to have some pride right?

-The Falcons looked good against the defensively challenged Lions. The Lions could be worse. I will probably lose this one also.

-The Nascar one by the way is worth the most. So if I win that one that will be bragging rights for a while. Its still really close and it will probably come down to the last week.

Root for whoever you would like but I need the bragging rights more then he does. I promise!
