Incentive to compete!

GM and I decided that we needed to edit our format for the confidence pick game. See, we really really want some viewer/reader interaction and this was one way for us to get it. Let you pick against us and see who does better.

We are still going to do this and we still really really want you guys and girls to pick against us but we realized our scoring format we flawed.

Here is the old way of scoring:

We were just going to total the amount of points earned by correct game picks and keep a running total. If we kept it the way it was, anyone joining from here on out would be at a big disadvantage because we would be so far ahead.

So we came up with a way for all of you to join but still have a chance to win at the end of the season.

Here is the new way of scoring:

First of all, we are dividing it up into college and pro. In other words if you only want to pick the pro games, then you will only be factored in on the pro scoreboard and the same goes for college.

Second of all and more importantly, if there are 10 people involved one week, the person that earned the most confidence points for the week will receive 10 points toward their season total. The person who finished with the second most will earn 9 points toward their season total and so on with the person finishing last getting 1 point.

For example, I won the first week so I would receive 2 points towards my total because there were only 2 participants. The more participants, the more points can be earned.

Thus, we need your picks. We think this could be something that is a lot of fun and could become very competitive. If we can get enough people we talked about giving out prizes for first place and maybe second. So send in your picks with a "UserID" of sorts so that we can really get this going. Then tell your friends so they can do it too!

Oh and there will be tiebreaker's too. The first tiebreaker will be number of games right. If you are tied with someone in points than the person will more games right will get more points. And if there isn't a clear winner after that than we will use the combined score guess. Each week there will be a game that you are asked to give us the total points scored in the game. That pick will be used as the second tiebreaker. If it is still tied after that then we will figure it out then.
