Who Should Play for the National Title?

I am hearing an argument currently on the Herd about whether or not a 1 loss team should jump an undefeated Penn State team.

And while I am biased in this argument, I still say....

HELL NO!

If Alabama and Penn State are the only BCS conference teams undefeated at the end of the season than they SHOULD play in the title game.

If Texas and Penn State are the only two than they should play.

If Penn State is 1 of 2 undefeated teams than they SHOULD play in the title game.

Now as a Penn State fan I want to see them in the title game no matter what but I also love college football and watch more than just my Lions.

If Texas Tech beats Texas and runs the table and Alabama somehow makes it through the SEC than I am fine with a TT/Bama title game.

Or there is a Big 12 or SEC undefeated team left at the end of it all than they should ABSOLUTELY play for the title and PSU SHOULD be left out.

But a one loss team jumping an undefeated PSU team??? That just wouldn't be right, I don't care what the schedule strength is.

Some people think that a one loss Texas or a one loss Florida team should jump an undefeated Penn State team to get to the title game. And I don't think it makes any sense.

If 2 schools from BCS conferences are undefeated at the end of the year.....then they should play for the National Championship....NO MATTER WHAT THEIR STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE SAYS!

Verb's Thoughts:

I don't watch much college football but if a team with one loss does jump ahead of Penn St I will stop watching until the system is changed. I am not a fan but I do know that if Penn St makes it through the big ten undefeated and there is only one other 1 loss team they should make the game.

At that point they have done all they could to get to the game and if you take them out for Florida or Texas or USC then you have robbed these kids.

If neither Texas or Alabama lose then this is a mute point but it will be crime if Penn St doesn't make it as 1 or 2 undefeated teams.
