Week 6 College Football Preview

My picks have a certain home team feel to them this week.

But don't let that deter you. Last week I went 7-3 again and am now 22-8 so far this year.

I already picked some games in the confidence pool so I will only give you previews of 4 of those games. I won't include the rest of the games on there. If you want to see them keep reading down the main page.

I will pick 6 more after my 4 previews and there is one big upset down there too.

And before you laugh at it....remember I picked Maryland and Navy last week!!!

Florida State @ Miami
3:30 ABC

Fl0rida State rebounded last week for a good win at home against a decent Colorado team. Miami suffered a tough loss as their last second pass just missed the receiver in the end zone.

Neither team is really strong though. So it really comes down to which team wants it more.

And when you look at where it is (in Miami) you have to think they would win. But it isn't the orange bowl anymore. They are playing their home games at Dolphins stadium this year and that isn't much of an advantage.

But I still like Miami. The Canes win 27-17.

13 Auburn @ 19 Vanderbilt
6:00 ESPN

This is a really tough game to pick. Vandy hasn't really played anyone but Auburn has looked terrible in most of their games.

I think Vandy has a real shot at this one though. Mainly because the mobile quarterback for Vandy is going to give them an advantage no matter which qb plays.

Auburn does have a really good defense though. Especially against the run. But the offense is bad.

I think Vandy gets just enough and wins this one 24-20

23 Oregon @ 9 USC
8:00 ABC

USC is looking to make a point. And Oregon is their target right now.

Can the Ducks handle it? I don't know. I think they might be able to. They run the ball well but they better learn how to throw it this week.

If USC has a defensive weakness it is definitely through the air. Although the Beavers took it to them on the ground last week.

I think Oregon has a shot and if it was in Oregon I might even take the upset.

But USC wins 38-20

14 Ohio State @ 18 Wisconsin
8:00 ABC

Another tough game to pick. Although this was easier for me.

I personally think Wisconsin is much better than they showed last week. I think they got caught looking ahead and assuming they would beat Michigan.

Ohio State has NOT looked good in any game they have played this year. Ohio, Troy, and Minnesota have all stayed in the games against the Buckeyes.

And Terrelle Pryor will not play in a tougher stadium this season. The Badgers fans will be all over him for the entire game and I don't think he can handle it yet.

On top of that the OSU defense isn't very good. Michigan's D is MUCH better which is why Wisconsin couldn't score last week.

Wisconsin 27 Ohio State 17

Here are some more games:

Georgia Tech over Duke - Duke is solid but I don't think they can move the ball against the GT defense.
Notre Dame over Stanford - Unfortunately for Stanford Notre Dame can only throw the ball on offense....because the Cardinal can't stop the pass.
California over Arizona State - I think Cal is going to end up being the surprise team in the Pac-10 and they could give USC a run for the Rose Bowl.
Air Force over Navy - Navy looked good on the road last week but this is a different road game. Air Force has the better defense and wins it at home.
Alabama over Kentucky - Kentucky may be a good defensive team and maybe if they were at home we could talk upset but not on the road.

Upset Special:

Kansas State over Texas Tech - Neither team has really played anyone yet this year. I think it will be a shootout and I think the home field will make the difference.

Let's Recap:

Miami over FSU
Vandy over Auburn
USC over Oregon
Wisc over OSU

GT over Duke
ND over Stanford
Cal over ASU
Air Force over Navy
Bama over UK
KSU over Texas Tech

Enjoy the games this weekend. Nothing really great but it always seems to work out with a couple really good games.

And yes.....all of my winners are the home team. I hope it works out!
