That's Leadership!

Last night the Broncos and Browns played in a shoot out. Brady Quinn started and really did impress me. I know it was against the Broncos very sub par defense but on top of his numbers he was very poised and composed. He was 23/35 for 239 and 2 touchdowns. That's solid in his very first start.

And how about Cutler. Talking about good numbers, try these on for size! 24/42 for 447 yards and 3 touchdowns. He had an interception but I personally think it was Brandon Marshall's fault. So Cutler was amazing and led the game winning drive with less then 2 minutes left. He had all 3 td's in the 4th quarter.

Both of these guys played incredible!

That's enough from me about the stats from the game. You can get them anywhere.

I want to talk about the maybe the best play of the game. Oh, it didn't even happen while the clock was running.

On the last touchdown of the game, Jay Cutler threw a fade route to Brandon Marshall in the end zone. He caught it and they took the lead with 1:14 left. Brandon Marshall had told him teammates that when he scored he was going to pull out an extra glove and do some kind of tribute to Barack Obama. It was going to be in good taste and from what I understand it was sincere. But as he was about to use the prop in the celebration, Brandon Stokley wisely came over and got in Marshall's face and convinced him to stop. Now that is Leadership! That is knowing that a 15 yard penalty could come back and bite them and having the presence of mind to convince Marshall to stop. What a play! And it wasn't even technically during the game.

The Browns ended up on the 33 yard line after the kickoff, which if there would have been a penalty, would have been the 48. That makes for a whole new situation and potentially a whole different outcome.

Stokley made an incredible play and could have saved the Broncos season!
