A little clearer

The BCS title game picture is a little clearer this morning after a very active Saturday in college football.

Number 3 Penn State couldn't get it done and lost in Iowa to end their title hopes. Their loss means there are only 2 undefeated teams left and IF they win out they WILL play for the title.

Both Texas Tech and Alabama won their games, Tech won easily, to remain undefeated and set up some huge potential matchups in the coming month. Texas Tech travels to Norman, Oklahoma to take on the Sooners on November 22. And assuming Florida (South Carolina, Citadel, @ Florida State) and Alabama (Mississippi St, Auburn) win out you will have Florida vs Alabama in the SEC Championship game on December 6.

Each of those games are going to be National Title elimination games. If Tech can win they will advance to the Big 12 Title game to play the Big 12 North champion which is likely to be Missouri.

In my opinion the only other teams than those 4 that have a shot are Texas and USC. USC plays at Stanford, home for Notre Dame, and @ UCLA, all of which are very winnable games and USC will probably be 11-1 at the end of the season. Texas gets to play at Kansas and home for Texas A&M.

Obviously Texas Tech and Alabama control their own destiny. One could argue that Florida also controls their own destiny since if they win out they are almost surely going to be 1 or 2 in the BCS.

It is going to be a very interesting month upcoming!
