Is Jay Cutler Being a Baby?

I would imagine most of you have heard that Matt Cassel was traded, along with Mike Vrabel, to the Chiefs for a 2nd round pick in this years draft.

If you haven't heard about this yet then shame on you for not paying more attention to the NFL!

But you might not be aware that the Broncos and Patriots were also discussing a trade that would have included a team like Tampa Bay. In that scenario Denver would have sent Cutler to the Bucs, the Bucs would have sent their first round pick (19th overall) to the Patriots, and Matt Cassel to the Broncos. Or something close to that anyway.

That whole situation raises another question, did the Patriots give the Chiefs a better deal due to Scott Pioli being the new GM?

But that is a question and topic for a whole separate post.

This post is about Jay Cutler and his whining now that the Broncos MIGHT have been quarterback shopping.

Some people feel that Jay has no right to get upset because 1) he hasn't really achieved anything yet in the NFL and 2) he might have asked for a trade earlier this season.

Well if you are a believer that he has no right to complain cause of his lack of success I would say you are an idiot. Name a player on that team in the past year that has given him decent production other than Brandon Marshall. (who by the way just got arrested again) You probably couldn't name too many could you. Give Cutler a good line and a good running back (or Randy Moss) and he would have gone 11-5 too.

OR for that matter give him a defense that keeps teams from gaining 200 yards a game on the ground and see what he can do. Hell if Cassel is in that offense last season you know how many games they win? No more than Cutler.

So to those who feel like Cutler can't get upset and complain cause he hasn't succeeded I say Shove It!

BUT if he actually did request a trade after his quarterback coach left then he has no right to whine now that they are shopping him. What is a team to do? If your quarterback expresses an interest to leave the team and you have a chance at another good young quarterback you have to look into it.

So basically he shouldn't be blamed for whining anymore than Donovan McNabb should have blamed after Kevin Kolb was drafted UNLESS he asked to be traded first!
