The Big East Tournament Is Still Good But.....

This is the first year since the conference expanded to 16 teams that the entire Big East Conference was invited to New York for the conference tourney. And I think it is a mistake.

Who wants to see DePaul, Rutgers, South Florida, or St. John's play anyway? All it did was make it all but impossible for a team in a 9-12 spot to make a run. Not saying they would have but having to play 5 games in 5 days and win them all is probably never gonna happen.

Honestly I think adding the first day and NOT televising the games is actually hurting the Big East Tourney. I wasn't even the least bit excited to watch the games yesterday and usually I am just waiting for the games to start.

Not that the first day games are ever really exciting but I would much rather have watched Georgetown vs Syracuse than Seton Hall vs the Orange. Either way I think Syracuse would have won but it would have made for better TV.

Not only that should the schools that sucked that bad all season really waste all that money on travel costs to go to New York and lose? I mean is DePaul really going anywhere for the postseason? No. So why not just go home after going 0-18 and get ready for another sport or another losing season next year?

For some reason some people think that every team should be given a chance but I really disagree. There is no reason why all 16 teams are in New York. Reward the teams that actually did something (and those that kinda did) and leave the bottom 4 teams on their couches at home to watch with everyone else.
